The Kindness of Strangers: Finding More Than Just Java Plums
Sometimes, the most unexpected encounters leave the deepest impressions. My recent search for neredu pandu (Java plums) turned into a heartwarming lesson in genuine hospitality and the true meaning of kindness.
Peaceful Meditation: It’s More Than Just a Pose
Peaceful Meditation: It’s More Than Just a Pose
“Buddham Saranam Gacchami”
Have you ever wondered what happens in the brain during meditation? Why should we meditate? Is meditation the only way to achieve inner peace? How do we meditate? What results have you experienced from meditating? Do we have to answer these questions with just textbook responses?
Here are my thoughts and tips:
Meditation is a gift, a technique to teach or train our brain to listen to us. It’s about getting our whole body to learn from our brain. For example, when I have an unbearable headache, I take a few minutes to calm down, close my eyes, or do nothing, and I train my brain not to focus on the headache. After a few minutes, I feel refreshed with no headache.
Training your mind to follow through and find calmness should become a part of life. This mental discipline can extend to other areas as well. For instance, I always misplace my phone or bag. To find it, I simply retrace my steps from where I last saw it, going through all the places I’ve been since. In this process, I’m usually able to recall where I left it. This demonstrates how calming the mind and focusing thoughts can lead to practical solutions.
In my view, achieving calmness doesn’t require the traditional meditation poses you find in books. Any comfortable pose works, as long as it helps us become calmer faster. The pose isn’t important; what matters is calming down and getting the brain under control. As you can see in the photos, there are several poses I’ve posted. Taking control over the brain can happen in any position.
The ultimate result of mastering this practice? You become calmer and more centered. You’ll find that you don’t overreact to the highs and lows of life. Joy and sorrow will still be there, but you’ll experience them with a newfound sense of equanimity. This is the final stage of controlling your brain, the true essence of meditation – a state of natural, balanced emotion.
Remember, meditation is not something you can buy or borrow. It’s a personal journey, cultivated within through desire, dedication, and consistent practice. It’s about connecting with your inner self, finding stillness amidst the chaos, and cultivating a peaceful mind.
By the way, this doesn’t happen in a day. It takes time and practice.

The Power of Asking for Help
The Power of Asking for Help
We’ve all been there – facing a challenge, feeling overwhelmed, and unsure of how to move forward. In those moments, it’s easy to let pride or fear get in the way of asking for help. But the truth is, seeking assistance is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of strength.
When We Don’t Ask
If we don’t reach out when we need support, we risk facing difficult times alone. And sometimes, the consequences of not asking for help can be far-reaching, impacting not just ourselves but those around us.
Take, for example, the epic tale of the Kurukshetra War from the Mahabharata. This devastating war could have been avoided if Dharmaraja had simply asked Krishna for help during the game of Chaupar (dice). But ego and overconfidence clouded his judgment. He believed he was clever and skilled enough to win on his own, unaware of the Kauravas’ deceitful plot. Krishna, aware of the impending disaster, waited for Dharmaraja to seek his assistance, but the request never came. The result? A catastrophic war that caused immense suffering.
Even in this ancient story, we see the importance of seeking help. Dharmaraja’s brothers and wife, Draupadi, were bound by his decisions as their king and elder brother. Though Draupadi eventually cried out to Krishna for help (and he famously saved her), the war itself might have been averted had Dharmaraja swallowed his pride.
A Simple Cup of Coffee
Even in everyday life, asking for help can make a world of difference. Just this morning, I woke up with a pounding headache. The aroma of coffee was tempting, but I wasn’t in any state to make it myself. The solution? I simply asked for help. And bless the kind soul who brewed that cup for me – it was the perfect remedy, and it set a positive tone for my entire day.
Don’t Wait to Be Rescued
Remember, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with asking for help. We are not meant to go through life alone. Don’t assume someone will magically appear to rescue you. Even God waits to be asked for assistance.
So, the next time you find yourself struggling, don’t hesitate to reach out. Ask for help, seek guidance, and allow others to support you on your journey. You might be surprised by the kindness and generosity that comes your way.

Finding Joy in the Rain: A Lesson from the Hibiscus
The rain falls gently, a soft caress upon the earth. And amidst the verdant landscape, a lone hibiscus stands tall, its crimson petals glistening with droplets of water. It’s a picture of resilience, a symbol of joy amidst the downpour.
As the raindrops kiss its petals, the hibiscus seems to absorb the positivity that surrounds it. It revels in the life-giving water, the fresh, earthy scent, and the gentle caress of the wind. This hibiscus isn’t merely enduring the rain; it’s thriving in it, finding contentment in the wet soil and the vibrant world that the rain nurtures.
A Moment of Pause
Take a moment to pause and truly observe this happy hibiscus. Let its resilience inspire you. Listen to the rhythmic patter of the rain, feel the cool wind against your skin, and breathe in the rich aroma of the wet earth.
Embrace the simple, profound happiness that comes from being present in this moment, just as the hibiscus does. Let go of worries and anxieties, and allow yourself to be fully immersed in the beauty of the present.
Finding Joy in the Small Wonders
The hibiscus reminds us that joy can be found even in the midst of a storm. It teaches us to appreciate the small wonders that surround us, the simple gifts that nature offers. The rain, the wind, the scent of the earth – these are all sources of joy, if we only take the time to notice them.
Let the hibiscus be your guide. Find joy in the everyday moments, in the gentle touch of rain, in the vibrant colors of nature, in the simple act of being present. Let these small wonders fill you with peace, positivity, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of life.
In the words of the poet Rabindranath Tagore:
“The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough.”
Let us, like the hibiscus and the butterfly, cherish the moments, find joy in the present, and embrace the beauty that surrounds us.

Empowering a Nonprofit Organization with Google Workspace
A Personal Success Story
I’m excited to share the story of a recent project I completed for a nonprofit organization. The goal was to enhance their efficiency by setting up Google Workspace, including Google Voice and email services, and providing comprehensive training on how to use these tools effectively. Here’s how it all unfolded and the positive impact it had on the organization.
Understanding the Need
When the nonprofit organization reached out to me, they were facing challenges with their fragmented and inefficient communication and collaboration tools. They needed a cohesive digital environment to streamline their operations and support their mission of serving the community. I was eager to help them achieve this transformation.
Setting Up Google Workspace
The first task was setting up Google Workspace. I created account for the staff member, giving them access to essential tools like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar. This unified platform was designed to enhance their internal and external communications, document management, and scheduling.
Overcoming Challenges with Google Voice
One challenge we faced was with Google Voice. The organization already had a Google Voice number, but it had been inactive for several years due to the pandemic. As a result, the number became inactive, and reclaiming it was not possible. It took some time, but I was able to secure a new number that the organization liked. This new number helped them get back in business, improving their communication capabilities significantly.
Configuring Email Services
I also set up professional email addresses for all team members, boosting the organization’s credibility and brand identity. The new email system ensured secure, reliable, and efficient communication, with features like spam protection and robust security measures. This allowed the nonprofit to focus on their mission without worrying about email-related issues.
Providing Comprehensive Training
Understanding that the successful adoption of new tools depends on user proficiency, I conducted extensive training sessions for the staff. The training covered:
- Google Workspace Basics: How to navigate and use Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets, and Calendar effectively.
- Google Voice Usage: Making and receiving calls, voicemail management, and using the service on various devices.
- Email Management: Best practices for managing emails, utilizing labels and filters, and maintaining security.
These sessions were interactive and hands-on, ensuring that staff members felt confident and empowered to use these tools to their full potential.
Seeing the Impact
The transformation was immediate and profound. The nonprofit organization reported significant improvements in their day-to-day operations. Communication became more fluid, document collaboration was seamless, and scheduling was more efficient. The team appreciated the intuitive nature of Google Workspace and the flexibility provided by Google Voice.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was the positive feedback I received from their CEO. They expressed gratitude for the user-friendly tools and the comprehensive training that made the transition smooth. The leadership team highlighted the enhanced productivity and the positive impact on their ability to serve the community more effectively.
Reflecting on the Journey
You might think it would take a whole team or company to complete a project like this, but at Websiteistic, I, Praveena Jogi, was able to complete it within two weeks. If you’re looking to integrate Google Workspace, look no further. Contact me today at Websiteistic for an affordable price. You don’t need to break the bank or pay a full-time salary. This project is a testament to the power of technology in transforming organizational efficiency and effectiveness. By setting up Google Workspace, integrating Google Voice, and providing thorough training, I was able to empower a dedicated nonprofit organization to better achieve their mission. I’m proud to have been a part of this journey and look forward to supporting more organizations in harnessing the power of digital tools for greater impact.

Introducing Let’s Go Chiro’s New Website
Creating and designing Let’s Go Chiro’s new website has been an exciting and rewarding journey. As the sole designer and creator at Websiteistic, I took on the challenge of bringing their vision to life, and I am thrilled with the result.
From the outset, my goal was to create a website that not only looked great but also served as a valuable resource for accident victims seeking treatment and support. I started by immersing myself in Let’s Go Chiro’s mission and understanding their unique approach to accident care. This allowed me to tailor the design and content of the website to their specific audience and goals.
The design process began with sketching out ideas and concepts, exploring different layouts and color schemes to find the perfect combination that would reflect Let’s Go Chiro’s brand identity. Once I had a clear vision in mind, I moved on to the digital creation phase, using my expertise in web design tools and techniques to bring the website to life.
One of the key elements of the website design was ensuring that it was user-friendly and easy to navigate. I carefully organized the content, incorporating clear calls-to-action and intuitive navigation menus to guide users through the site and help them find the information they need quickly and easily.
In addition to aesthetics and functionality, I also focused on optimizing the website for performance and accessibility. I paid close attention to factors such as page load times, mobile responsiveness, and compatibility with different browsers and devices to ensure a seamless experience for all users.
Throughout the design process, I remained in close communication with the owner at Let’s Go Chiro, gathering feedback and making adjustments to ensure that the final website exceeded their expectations. Their input was invaluable in refining the design and ensuring that it accurately represented their brand and values.
I am incredibly proud of the work that went into creating and designing Let’s Go Chiro’s new website. It has been a labor of love, and I am excited to see how it will help them continue to make a positive impact in the lives of accident victims in our community.
Thank you to Let’s Go Chiro for trusting me with this project, and thank you to Websiteistic for providing me with the opportunity to showcase my skills and creativity. Here’s to many more successful collaborations in the future!
