The Multitasking Myth: It’s All in Your Head (and a Little PTC)

The Multitasking Myth: It’s All in Your Head (and a Little PTC)

The age-old debate rages on: are men or women better multitaskers? We’ve all heard the theories about brain structure and hormonal influences, but I have a different take. My theory? It’s all in their mind.

Finding Your Celestial Wonder

Finding Your Celestial Wonder

Fellow readers, sometimes we don’t realize the value of something until it’s gone. That’s what happened to me when I was laid off. At first, it felt like early retirement – a dream! But after seven months of relaxing, something felt off. I was restless, driving everyone at home crazy with my newfound ‘laziness’ and obsession with cleaning. It turned out, I missed the purpose and connection that work brought to my life.

This experience taught me that setbacks can be opportunities for self-discovery. It’s about finding our ‘Celestial Wonder’ – that spark within us that guides us towards fulfillment.

Now, finding your ‘Celestial Wonder,’ whether in your career or in life, requires three things:

  • Hard work: There’s no substitute for putting in the effort. For me, it meant dusting off my resume and diving headfirst into a job market that had completely changed in six years.
  • Luck: We all need a bit of luck on our side. But we can create our own luck by being prepared and open to new opportunities.
  • Alignment: This is where things get interesting. Think of it like the planets aligning. It’s about the right opportunity appearing at the right time, when you’re ready for it.

This idea of alignment really hit home for me last year when I was at the Grand Canyon. Standing on the rim, taking in that breathtaking view, I felt a profound sense of connection to something much larger than myself. It was a moment of clarity, a reminder that we are all part of something incredible.

And speaking of incredible, 2025 has a rare celestial event in store for us: the Maha Kumbh. Every 144 years, the stars align – literally! The Sun, Moon, and Jupiter come together in Aries, drawing millions to the sacred rivers of India for a spiritual experience of renewal and cleansing.

But that’s not all. On February 28th, 2025, we’ll witness another amazing alignment – seven planets will line up in a rare formation that won’t happen again until 2492! I missed capturing the recent alignment, but I’m ready for this one. I’ll be there, camera in hand, to witness this cosmic wonder.

These events remind us that we are living in a unique moment, a moment filled with possibilities. Just like the pilgrims at the Maha Kumbh seeking spiritual alignment, we too can seek alignment in our own lives – with our goals, our values, and our dreams.

So, fellow readers, as you navigate life’s journey, remember:

  • Believe in yourself and your abilities.
  • Keep working towards your goals.
  • Stay open to new possibilities.
  • And trust that your own ‘Celestial Wonder’ is out there waiting for you.

Don’t give up. Your time will come. Let’s all find our alignment in this extraordinary year.

The Secret to Dining Without the Buffet Overload

The Secret to Dining Without the Buffet Overload

Cruises are known for their incredible variety and abundance of food. But for some, this can be a source of anxiety rather than excitement. Fear of seasickness, endless buffets, repetitive menus – these worries can put a damper on your vacation.

Harmony of the Seas and the Rhythm of the Islands: A Family Cruise Chronicle

Harmony of the Seas and the Rhythm of the Islands: A Family Cruise Chronicle

The salty air whipped through my hair as the Harmony of the Seas, a majestic titan of the sea, pulled away from Galveston. This wasn’t my first cruise rodeo – oh no, this was my third! But this time, it was extra special. I, Praveena and the whole RP squad were about to set sail on an epic seven-night journey through the Western Caribbean – my loving husband (G), my young adult sons Prathik and Reyansh (together, we’re the RP family!), and the cherry on top, my dear mom.

Our first stop, Roatan, Honduras, was…

You know, I say “everything happens for a reason,” and boy, do I believe it! This cruise, this whole adventure, wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t, for some inexplicable reason, decided to check my junk emails that day. There it was, a gleaming beacon of opportunity from United Airlines, announcing their cruise packages.

It was like destiny was calling! I immediately forwarded it to my husband (G), with a persuasive argument crafted by yours truly and the boys. We’d been talking about another family vacation, and this seemed like the perfect fit. Now, convincing G, the king of the budget, was a different story altogether.

Several phone calls, a few spreadsheets, and some strategic negotiations later, we finally had lift-off! But the real hero of this saga was Ann Grummon, our amazing cruise travel agent at United Airlines. She was an absolute lifesaver!

Finding the perfect accommodations for a family of five, with two young adults with grandma who value their space, can be tricky. Ann patiently navigated through countless options until she found the ideal solution: two balcony rooms, side-by-side, on the highest deck, right in the middle of the ship. It was perfect! Okay, maybe not perfect – we were hoping for connecting rooms, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers, right?

And Ann’s service didn’t stop there. She diligently followed up with reminders about payments, ensuring we didn’t miss any deadlines. She even sent us a friendly email just before our sail date, double-checking that we had all the necessary paperwork. Talk about going above and beyond!

With Ann’s help, the cruise was officially booked and paid for, eight months in advance. The excitement was palpable, the anticipation building with each passing day. We were ready to set sail on the Harmony of the Seas and create memories that would last a lifetime. And let me tell you, it was worth every penny… and every junk email!

Oh, the drama! It was like a scene straight out of “Home Alone,” except instead of forgetting Kevin, we almost forgot RJ! With just one day before our cruise departure, RJ was still battling final exams and school commitments. We had to reschedule his flight to the next day, leaving him with less than 24 hours to reach Dallas and then make the 4-5 hour drive to Galveston.

Talk about cutting it close! But remember my motto? “Everything happens for a reason.” Just as panic started to set in, a notification popped up on my phone: an email from Royal Caribbean.

The ship was delayed! Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Harmony of the Seas would be arriving late, pushing back our departure time to 11 pm. Boarding wouldn’t start until 8 pm. It was a miracle! The stars had aligned, the cruise gods were smiling upon us, and RJ had a fighting chance to make it.

With renewed hope, we packed PJ’s Tesla and hit the road. Now, road trips in an electric car have their own unique set of challenges, namely charging stops. But hey, who needs rest stops when you can have an adventure? During one such pit stop, I stumbled upon a sight that made my inner child squeal with delight: a pink Tesla tank truck! Of course, I had to document this momentous occasion. With the owner’s permission, I posed for photos with the pink beauty, adding another unexpected chapter to our pre-cruise saga.

Despite the charging detours and the near “Home Alone” situation, we rolled into the Galveston port at 8 pm – perfect timing!  As we boarded the Harmony of the Seas, a wave of relief and excitement washed over us. The fun was about to begin, and the RP family adventure was officially underway!

The Harmony of the Seas was more than just a ship; it was a floating city of wonder, a universe of experiences waiting to be explored. And explore we did! From the moment we stepped on board, the RP family was swept away in a whirlwind of activities, entertainment, and pure joy.

But first, let’s rewind to our grand entrance. The RP men, ever the strategists, decided to take the “scenic route” to the baggage drop-off area. This involved a detour behind the building, where, lo and behold, there were only a handful of cars. We all hopped out with our luggage while Amma, RJ, and I scoped out the scene and figured out the next steps.

Meanwhile, G and PJ headed to the pre-booked parking lot. PJ, the savvy planner, had opted for a non-Royal Caribbean lot, a bit further away but much easier on the wallet. Smart thinking, PJ!

Now, here’s where things got interesting. In the chaos of last-minute packing and RJ’s flight drama, we’d completely overlooked the emails about baggage tags. Oops! But fear not, for a kind-hearted port employee came to our rescue. He not only provided us with tags but also helped us attach them to our luggage and load everything onto his trolley. Talk about excellent service!

By the time G and PJ returned, we were all set and ready to roll. Reunited and it feels so good! We breezed through security, passports in hand, in a record 15 minutes. The efficiency was impressive!

Our keys were waiting for us at the door, and most of our bags were already lined up outside. Except for one. My bright orange suitcase, the one with all my essentials, was missing in action. A quick call to the service desk yielded a rather unhelpful response: “We have 2000 bags to distribute, ma’am. It will be there soon.”

Soon? It was already 1 am! I needed my medication, and my patience was wearing thin. So, I marched down to the service desk, determined to find my elusive suitcase. And there it was, sitting all alone with a few other bags. Apparently, these bags required an additional security check.

Now, here’s my two cents on the situation. While I appreciate their thoroughness, a little communication would have been nice. Had they informed me about the extra check, I would have gladly gone down earlier and saved myself the late-night trek. But hey, I understand – security first! In the end, they did their due diligence, and my suitcase was reunited with its owner.

I’d give the whole baggage experience a 7 out of 10. Room for improvement, but not a complete disaster. And hey, it wouldn’t be a true RP family adventure without a little bit of unexpected excitement, right?

well, let’s just say it was a learning experience. We’d envisioned pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and maybe a playful monkey encounter. Reality served us a different dish. We hired a car, a rather basic AC car, mind you, for a whopping $300! The driver, a smooth talker, promised us a secluded paradise, a “private beach” for a mere $20 per person. He painted a grim picture of the public beach – overcrowded, with an entry fee to boot.

Now, the RP family isn’t one to shy away from a little adventure, but something felt off. We’d already splurged on the car, and this extra cost, coupled with the driver’s eagerness, set off our internal alarm bells. So, after our brief encounter with some rather sleepy sloths and magnificent macaws (another $20 a pop, mind you!), we decided to cut our losses and head back to the ship.

Yes, we’d paid for a full day, and yes, we returned within two hours. But the feeling of being taken advantage of left a sour taste in our mouths. To be fair, we did pay the driver the full amount – after all, it was our decision to return. But let’s just say, the “private beach” dream remained just that – a dream.

Back on the Harmony of the Seas, the disappointment quickly melted away. The ship was a world unto itself – a floating city of endless entertainment, delectable food, and breathtaking views.

To be continued…

Ah, Costa Maya! Now that was more like it. After the Roatan rollercoaster, we decided to play it safe and stay within the port area. And you know what? It was a fantastic decision!

The port itself was like a mini-city, bustling with shops, restaurants, and activities. We strolled through the colorful marketplace, haggling for souvenirs.

Now, the highlight of Costa Maya was undoubtedly the rope bridges. Remember that “private beach” fiasco in Roatan? Well, this made up for it tenfold! For a reasonable $14 (a steal compared to our Roatan escapade!), we ascended into a world of swaying bridges and breathtaking views.

Imagine this: me, camera in hand, capturing the vibrant hues of the port below. The turquoise waters shimmered under the midday sun, the colorful buildings popped against the lush greenery, and in the distance, our magnificent Harmony of the Seas stood proudly, a beacon of comfort and luxury. I had all the time in the world to snap photos, to truly soak in the beauty of it all. It was a photographer’s dream!

The boys, ever the adventurers, were in their element, racing across the bridges and pointing out the exotic birds nestled amongst the foliage.

Speaking of pools, there was one within the port itself, complete with a swim-up bar. It looked inviting enough, but the sheer number of people crammed into it was a bit overwhelming. We decided to give it a miss – after all, we had our own luxurious pool waiting for us back on the ship.

We did consider the dolphin swim, but the enclosure seemed rather small, like an Olympic swimmer trying to do laps in a kiddie pool. Plus, with the “price tag” vibe we were getting from everything else, we figured it wouldn’t be worth the splurge.

By lunchtime, we were happily back on board the Harmony of the Seas, our bellies full of delicious Mexican fare and our hearts content with our Costa Maya adventure. It just goes to show that sometimes, the best experiences are found right under your nose, or in this case, right within the port!

Ah, Cozumel! Our final port of call and a whirlwind of activity, even though we chose to stay within the port area again. You see, after the Chichén Itzá experience during our RP family’s 7 Wonders trip, we were craving something a bit more relaxed.

And honestly, when it comes to snorkeling, nothing beats Hawaii, right? We’ve been spoiled by those vibrant reefs and crystal-clear waters. Besides, we knew in our hearts that Cozumel deserved its own dedicated trip, a deep dive into its unique charm and hidden gems.

Our Cozumel adventure began with a mandatory family photo op in front of the iconic Cozumel sign at the port. You know, the one with the colorful letters? It’s practically a rite of passage for any visitor!

From there, we wandered through the maze of shops, soaking up the lively atmosphere. I even decided to embrace the island vibes and get my hair braided. $15 for a single strand seemed a bit steep, but hey, when in Cozumel!

The port was buzzing with energy, but I managed to find a quiet spot near the water’s edge for a solo photoshoot. With the majestic Harmony of the Seas as my backdrop, I braved the crowds and captured some truly Instagram-worthy shots. Just me, the shimmering turquoise water, and our magnificent cruise ship – a perfect moment of tranquility amidst the chaos.

But as luck would have it, the heavens opened up, and a sudden downpour sent us scurrying back to the ship. Luckily, we made it just in time for lunch, escaping the deluge with our shopping bags and braided hair intact.

Even though our Cozumel exploration was cut short by the rain, it was still a memorable experience. We left with a taste of the island’s vibrant culture and a yearning to return someday for a more in-depth adventure. After all, there’s only so much you can squeeze into a few hours at port!

Dec 31st: It’s Not the End of the World, It’s a Self-Care Revolution!

Dec 31st: It’s Not the End of the World, It’s a Self-Care Revolution!

Okay, let’s get real. Tomorrow is January 1st. A new year. A fresh start. But hold on a second before you get swept away in the hype of resolutions and “new year, new me” mantras.

Here’s the truth: January 1st is just another day on the calendar. The world isn’t magically resetting. Your problems won’t vanish overnight. But what CAN change is your commitment to yourself.

Self-Care: Not a Resolution, a Revolution

Forget adding “self-care” to your fleeting New Year’s resolution list. This isn’t about a temporary fix or a fleeting trend. This is about a fundamental shift in how you prioritize yourself.

Ladies, listen up! We know you juggle a million roles – mother, partner, employee, friend, daughter… the list goes on. It’s time to add one more crucial box to your repertoire: SELF-CARE. And make it a big one!

Gents, this applies to you too! While society may tell you to suppress your needs, carve out space for self-care. Place it right next to that “work” or “family” box – it’s that important.

Here’s the deal:

  • Self-care isn’t selfish: It’s essential for your well-being, both mentally and physically. You might see me posting photos often, but that’s my form of self-care! Snapping those pictures and sharing them is how I recharge.
  • Self-care isn’t a luxury: It’s a necessity, like eating or sleeping. And guess what? My photos aren’t expensive. A quick selfie or a picture of my surroundings takes seconds, and I do it all myself—no fuss, no elaborate setups.
  • Self-care isn’t one-size-fits-all: It’s about finding what recharges YOU. Photos might be my thing, but they might not be yours. And that’s okay! Find what brings you joy and makes you feel good.

So, how do you start this self-care revolution?

  • Tune in: Listen to your body and mind. What are they craving?
  • Small steps: Start with something manageable – a 10-minute walk, a relaxing bath, reading a chapter of a book.
  • Make it a habit: Consistency is key. Integrate self-care into your daily routine.
  • Say no: Don’t be afraid to set boundaries and prioritize your needs.

This isn’t about waiting for a new year or a new beginning. It’s about choosing yourself, today and every day. Let’s make this a year of self-care, not just another year on the calendar.

Faith, Festivals, and the Universality of the Divine

Faith, Festivals, and the Universality of the Divine

As the Christmas lights twinkle and carols fill the air, I find myself reflecting on the journey that led me to embrace this beautiful festival. Growing up in a Hindu household in Tirupati, my childhood was immersed in the vibrant traditions of my faith. Yet, it was through a series of unexpected encounters and experiences that I discovered the true spirit of Christmas, a spirit that transcended religious boundaries and resonated with my own spiritual upbringing.

This Christmas, I want to share my story, a story of how Christmas found its way into my heart and how it ultimately reinforced my belief in the universality of faith. This is a story told in three chapters:

  • Chapter 1: The Christmas Seed: This chapter explores my early introduction to Christmas through my Christian tutors, who opened my eyes to the beauty of this festival.
  • Chapter 2: Silver Bells and Christmas Carols: Here, I delve into my experiences at a Christian school, where the spirit of Christmas was woven into the fabric of school life.
  • Chapter 3: The Holy Land: This chapter recounts my pilgrimage to the Holy Land, where I connected with the historical and spiritual roots of Christmas.

Through these chapters, I hope to illuminate the transformative power of faith and the beauty of interfaith understanding. This is a story of how Christmas, a festival with roots in a different religious tradition, enriched my own spiritual journey and deepened my connection to the divine.

Chapter 1: The Christmas Seed

The aroma of freshly baked cake and the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree still transport me back to those cozy evenings at my tutors’ house. Growing up in Tirupati, a town steeped in the devotion to Lord Venkateswara, my childhood was a tapestry woven with vibrant threads of Hindu traditions. Yet, it was my tutors, Sulochana and Chitti Akka, who introduced me to the magic of Christmas.

They were converted Christians, their home a sanctuary of faith where the spirit of Christmas was kept alive year-round. Every day, they would gather for prayer, their voices reciting verses from the Bible, filling the air with a sense of serenity. Their home was adorned with Christmas decorations, the centerpiece being a beautifully decorated Christmas tree that sparkled with lights and ornaments. Greeting cards, adorned with festive images and heartfelt messages, added a personal touch to their décor, each card a testament to the love and connections they cherished.

But it was the stories that truly captivated me. Sulochana and Chitti Akka would recount tales from the Bible, each one leaving an indelible mark on my young mind. One story, in particular, resonated with me, a story of unwavering faith and the miraculous power of God. It taught me that miracles do happen, but they require patience and an unwavering belief in the divine. God guides us through subtle signs and whispers, and we must be attentive to these divine cues.

Their Christmas celebrations were a stark contrast to the vibrant festivities of my Hindu upbringing. Yet, they instilled in me a profound understanding: that all gods are essentially the same, their essence transcending the names we assign them and the rituals we perform. Whether we call upon Lord Venkateswara or Jesus Christ, the underlying faith and devotion remain unchanged.

Chapter 2: Silver Bells and Christmas Carols

My journey with Christmas took an unexpected turn when I joined Silver Bells, a Christian school. While there were no formal Bible study classes, the spirit of Christmas permeated every aspect of school life. Every morning began with a school prayer, a collective moment of reflection and gratitude. Christmas at Silver Bells was an experience unlike any other. The entire school transformed into a festive wonderland, with decorations adorning every corner. We staged Christmas dramas, our young voices echoing carols through the halls, and the excitement of decorating the Christmas tree was a shared joy.

The highlight of the season was our annual visit to the church. The grandeur of the church, the solemnity of the service, and the sense of community further solidified the Christmas spirit in my heart. Silver Bells, though not explicitly religious in its curriculum, nurtured the essence of Christmas through these shared experiences. It was here that the seed of Christmas, planted by my tutors, began to truly blossom.

Chapter 3: The Holy Land

Years later, my journey of faith led me to the Holy Land, a pilgrimage to the very birthplace of Christianity. Walking the streets of Jerusalem, I felt an overwhelming sense of connection to the stories that had shaped my understanding of Christmas. Visiting Bethlehem, the town where Jesus was born, was a profoundly moving experience.

But it was within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre that I felt truly humbled. Touching the Stone of Anointing, where Jesus’ body was prepared for burial, sent shivers down my spine. Seeing the imprint of a hand, believed to be that of Jesus, on a stone wall, filled me with awe. These tangible connections to the life of Jesus brought a new dimension to my faith.

Standing in that sacred space, I realized that the essence of Christmas, the message of love, hope, and redemption, transcended religious boundaries. It was a message that resonated with my own spiritual upbringing, reinforcing the belief that all paths lead to the same divine source.

My journey to the Holy Land was a culmination of the Christmas experiences that had shaped my life. It was a testament to the enduring power of faith, and a reminder that the true spirit of Christmas lies in the love and compassion we share with one another, regardless of our religious beliefs. It solidified the understanding that whether we celebrate Diwali or Christmas, whether we offer prayers in a temple, church, or mosque, the underlying current of faith and devotion remains the same.

Merry Christmas 2024! May this season bring you joy, peace, and a renewed sense of connection to the divine within and all around us.

Hump Day Inspiration: Crush the Rest of Your Week!

Hump Day Inspiration: Crush the Rest of Your Week!

It’s Wednesday, aka Hump Day! 🐪 That mid-week point where the weekend feels both tantalizingly close and still frustratingly far away. You might be feeling super productive, or maybe you’re just slogging through. Whatever your Wednesday vibe, I’m here to inject a little inspiration and motivation to help you conquer the rest of the week! ✨

Here’s your Hump Day dose of get-up-and-go:

  • Celebrate your wins: 🎉 Take a moment to acknowledge what you’ve accomplished so far this week. Finished a challenging project at work? Finally tackled that pile of laundry? Nailed a new recipe? No matter how small, recognizing your achievements—both personal and professional—can give you a much-needed boost. Give yourself a pat on the back! 🙌
  • Re-evaluate your goals: 🤔 Is there anything you need to adjust to stay on track? Hump Day is a great time for a mid-week check-in. Feeling burnt out? Maybe you need more sleep to tackle those tasks effectively. 😴 Consider adjusting your schedule, tasks, or even your evening routine to prioritize those precious Zzz’s. Sometimes, a good night’s sleep is the solution to almost anything!
  • Break down big tasks: Feeling overwhelmed? As a wise person once said, “Rome wasn’t built in a day!” 🧱 Break those larger projects into smaller, more manageable chunks. This makes daunting tasks seem less intimidating and allows you to celebrate those mini-victories along the way.
  • Find your focus: 🎯 What’s your top priority for today? Identify it and tackle it head-on. And don’t overthink it! If your top priority is to simply sit still for 10 minutes and recharge, then do it. No judgment here. Sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is give yourself a break. 🧘‍♀️
  • Don’t forget to breathe: When things get hectic, take a few deep breaths to re-center yourself. Count to ten. 🌬️ While it might not magically make your problems disappear, it can definitely reduce your worry and help you think more clearly. With a calmer mind, you’re better equipped to tackle those challenges head-on and find solutions faster.
  • Reward yourself: Plan something enjoyable for the end of the day, whether it’s a relaxing activity or some quality time with loved ones. Even better? Delegate that delicious meal prep to someone else in the house! You deserve a break. 😉 🍕

Remember: You’ve got this! You’re halfway through the week, and the weekend is within sight. Keep pushing forward, stay positive, and finish strong! 🚀

Leading from the Front: Lessons in Courage and Compassion from Major Mukund Varadarajan

Leading from the Front: Lessons in Courage and Compassion from Major Mukund Varadarajan

Leadership lessons can come from the most unexpected places. Today, mine came from an Amaran Tamil movie. I was deeply moved to discover that the film was based on the true story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, an officer in the Indian Army’s Rajput Regiment. His story, a testament to courage, strategic thinking, and unwavering dedication, resonated with me on a profound level.

Major Varadarajan’s leadership transcended the battlefield. Whether you’re leading a team in combat or navigating the complexities of the IT industry, the core principles of his leadership style hold true.

What made Major Varadarajan a great leader?

  • Fearless Decision-Making: In high-pressure situations, he acted decisively and with courage, showcasing the ability to think clearly when it mattered most. This is crucial in any leadership role, where quick, informed decisions can make all the difference.
  • Team-Oriented Approach: He prioritized the well-being and success of his team above all else. This selfless approach fostered trust and loyalty, essential ingredients for any high-performing team.
    • A striking example of this was his response when a senior officer commended him for his achievements during a perilous operation. Instead of taking the credit, Major Varadarajan highlighted the contribution of the team member who made the critical shot, demonstrating his commitment to recognizing and valuing the efforts of his team.
  • Strategic Planning: Major Varadarajan understood the importance of careful planning and tactical execution. He analyzed situations meticulously before taking action, a valuable lesson for leaders in any field.
  • Inspiring Example: His bravery and commitment to duty inspired his troops. Leading by example, he demonstrated the qualities he expected in his team, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Composure Under Pressure: Even in the face of adversity, he maintained composure and clarity of thought. This ability to stay calm under pressure is essential for effective leadership, enabling sound decision-making even in challenging circumstances.

Leading Through Adversity:

The operation depicted in the film was a harrowing experience. It involved intense close-quarter combat with militants, where Major Varadarajan fearlessly led his team. Despite sustaining severe injuries, he prioritized the safety of his men, directing them to strategic positions and ensuring their well-being. He remained on the frontline, leading with unwavering resolve until the mission was accomplished. Tragically, Major Varadarajan made the ultimate sacrifice during this encounter.

Major Varadarajan’s story serves as a powerful reminder that true leadership is about more than just giving orders. It’s about courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the success of your team. Whether you’re on the battlefield or in the boardroom, these qualities are essential for building a strong and successful team.

Salute to Major Mukund Varadarajan. His legacy of courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication serves as an inspiration to us all.

Mind’s Power

Mind’s Power

The mind, a battlefield, where thoughts contend,
A powerful force, that can make or break, my friend.
What you think, you become, so guard your inner space,
Don’t let negativity leave its trace.

Stress is self-inflicted, a mind’s own creation,
A choice to dwell on woes, a painful fixation.
The past holds lessons, the future beckons bright,
But true peace resides in the present’s light.

Learn from yesterday, for tomorrow prepare,
Yet live in this moment, with mindful care.
Keep learning, keep growing, train your mind to be strong,
In forgiveness and tolerance, where you belong.

This powerful mind, a tool for your command,
Can lift you to greatness, or bury you in sand.
Choose wisely your thoughts, let positivity reign,
And find inner peace, amidst life’s fleeting pain.

The Princess, the Queen, and the Legacy of Giving

The Princess, the Queen, and the Legacy of Giving

In Boyareddygari’s lands, a princess fair,
Innocence her crown, a loving, gentle air.
Her father, the king, with heart both strong and kind,
His kingdom’s burdens, ever on his mind.

He toiled and cared, his duty never done,
Providing for all, from rising to setting sun.
His queen, a pillar, by his side she stood,
Supporting his reign, for the kingdom’s good.

Open were their doors, to every plea and plight,
Seeking aid and comfort, morning, noon, and night.
The princess watched, with wonder in her eyes,
As people came, with hopes and with their cries.

But shadows fell, the king’s time came to end,
And Boyareddygari’s strength, began to bend.
Some faltered then, their leader lost from sight,
While others rose, with courage shining bright.

They followed paths, the king had paved with care,
His wisdom guiding them, his spirit in the air.
With skills he’d taught, and his good name held high,
They found their footing, beneath a mournful sky.

The princess saw, with pride and bittersweet grace,
Her father’s legacy, living on in their embrace.
Though grief remained, a comfort she did find,
His helping hand, still aiding those behind.

Then fate entwined, her life with Jogi’s heir,
A prince so grand, beyond all compare.
Married they were, a union blessed and bright,
She, now a princess, of Jogi’s noble light.

Across the seas they sailed, to a distant land,
Where dreams took root, upon the golden sand.
Together they built, with love and with their might,
A kingdom new, where they ruled, just and right.

The king and queen of RP, their legacy unfurled,
A testament to kindness, in this ever-changing world.
Yet times had changed, a shift in human ways,
Where “help” was measured, in calculated praise.

Some sought her aid, with motives less than pure,
Seeking advantage, her kindness to secure.
Others misconstrued, her offers freely given,
As if insistence, their independence driven.

The queen observed, with wisdom in her gaze,
The fading virtue, in these modern days.
But still she gave, with spirit strong and true,
For in her heart, compassion brightly grew.

Yesterday a princess, today a reigning queen,
Tomorrow Rajmata, a guiding light serene.
Through changing titles, her purpose stays the same,
To lend a hand, to whisper her father’s name.

Beyond her time, her legacy will live,
In hearts she touched, the strength she helped to give.
For kindness flows, a river ever strong,
And echoes on, in deeds and in song.

This princess, queen, this Rajmata to be,
Is Praveena, her spirit forever free.
With open heart, she walks through life’s long mile,
A princess still, with a compassionate smile.

The lesson learned, in her father’s loving land.
With open heart, she walks through life’s long mile,
A princess still, with a compassionate smile.
